This Is What Pride Looks Like In The Philippines: 70,000 LGBTQ+ Marched!

On the 50th anniversary of StoneWall, this year’s Pride March all over the world became more special, louder and thousands went out and showed resistance hand in hand with each one of the LGBTQ+ community.

In the Philippines, more than 70,000 people participated in the Metro Manila Pride March, making this year the largest Pride celebration! Despite being one of the largest religious population in Asia, this only goes to show how we are on our way to progress. Our fight and protest won’t stop here. We have more work to do but this, what an empowering start!



It was raining, the weather was gloomy but the LGBTQ+ community around the city went out in their colorful outfits, rainbow flags and iconic placard taking them to the streets in unity to celebrate love, resistance, and pride!

Pride will always happen until we, LGBTQ people can walk down the street without getting harassed, and until we finally get the acceptance and rights that we deserve. Pride is not your party. Pride is our protest!
