Released in the 90’s, the late Millenials and early Gen Z surely memorized every word of this song as Christmas In Our Hearts has been part of every Filipino Christmas carols. Believe it or not, the Christmas In Our Hearts album had sold six hundred thousand copies over the years and made Jose Mari Chan as “The Father of Philippine Christmas Music.”
2. All I Want For Christmas Is You
Originally released in 1994, Mariah Carey’s All I Want For Christmas Is You was part of Merry Christmas Album. Being an R&B song and plus its upbeat tempo the hit had received many renditions and a lot of artists had covered the song through the years. In 2010, Carey re-recorded the song alongside the Canadian singer, Justin Bieber.
3. Jingle Bell Rock
How can anyone forget the iconic scene of Regina, Cady, Karen, and Gretchen singing Jingle Bell Rock in the movie Mean Girls? Since its release in 1957, Bobby Helms’ Jingle Bell Rock became a staple Christmas tune in America and soon after in the different parts of the world.
4. Ngayong Pasko Magniningning Ang Pilipino
Sung by Toni Gonzaga and Gary Valenciano, Ngayong Pasko Magniningning Ang Pilipino was ABS CBN Network’s 2010 station ID. The song was nominated as Best Christmas Recording at the 24th Awit Awards.
5. Last Christmas
The song by English pop duo — Wham! Last Christmas was launched in 1984 and instantly became number one in Slovenia, Denmark, and Sweden. Due to its popularity, the song has received many versions from various artists like; Hillary Duff, Taylor Swift, Rita Ora, Fifth Harmony and many more.
6. Santa Tell Me
Co-written and recorded by the singing superstar Ariana Grande, Santa Tell Me was part of the 2014 Christmas Album and immediately reached the top ten in different countries like; Austria, Denmark, South Korea, Canada, etc.
7. I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus
Originally sung by Jimmy Boyd, I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus was recorded in 1952. Various artists had given the song their own rendition but the popular version was by The Jackson 5.
8. Let It Snow!
Released in 1945, Let It Snow was originally written as a wish for much cooler weather in Hollywood, California but since the song technically speaks about winter, it became a standard holiday song.
9. Star Ng Pasko
Star Ng Pasko or Bro, Ikaw Ang Star Ng Pasko was launched in 2009 as the station ID of the ABS-CBN Network that was sung by Yeng Constantino, Juris, Aiza Seguerra, and Carol Banawa. The song was inspired by the hit teleserye of Kapamilya Network — May Bukas Pa.
10. Santa Can You Hear Me
Recorded in 2000 by the pop superstar Britney Spears, Santa Can You Hear Me was released in 2015 as part of the album by various artists entitled “Ultimate… Christmas”
